For 40 years, Corson has collaborated with design teams, communities, construction managers and owners to develop cost-efficient, practical design concepts. He is currently a licensed professional engineer in five states and has provided structural engineering services for more than 300 projects throughout the U.S.
“I am most thankful to be part of a profession with so many talented, diligent professionals, and I hope through this recognition to raise awareness about the great work that all structural engineers do,” said Corson, ACEC Indiana Engineer of the Year.
Corson has been a strong mentor of structural engineers throughout the state and has been a leader in developing structural engineering standards and best practices. He has served as a board member and president of the American Concrete Institute Indiana Chapter, board member and chair of the ACEC Indiana Vertical Committee, and leader of an ad hoc industry committee that helped publish quality assurance guidelines for Indiana construction projects.

Corson said he is humbled and honored to receive this award.
“Structural engineers produce very serious and challenging work every day that largely goes unnoticed,” Corson said. “I am most thankful to be part of a profession with so many talented, diligent professionals, and I hope through this recognition to raise awareness about the great work that all structural engineers do.”
Corson is also an advocate for public safety in the built environment. He has worked with state officials and legislators to revise Indiana’s building codes and laws to improve the safety and quality of life for Hoosiers. He recently served as the only licensed engineer on a statewide committee commissioned by the Indiana Fire Prevention and Building Safety Commission to identify building codes for needed updates. He also has testified at Indiana General Assembly hearings in support of building code updates and improved construction quality assurance standards.
